About the Activity

What do inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis have in common? They are all immune-mediated inflammatory diseases characterized by dysregulation of the immune system, inflammation, disease chronicity, and an overlapping cluster of extra-disease manifestations. What’s more, they have all been shown to respond to biologic therapy. This engaging CE Web activity is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills necessary for providing optimal care to IMID patients. Featured within the program are two interactive case presentations and audience response questions that are designed to test your baseline competence and to provide you with a mechanism for comparing your knowledge and clinical practice to those of your colleagues. Your participation in this activity will also provide you access to several valuable downloadable clinical tools.

Learning Objectives

After completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to

  • identify the clinical utility of currently available and emerging biologic therapies in the management of autoimmune diseases

  • explain the effectiveness, safety, tolerability, and proper administration of biologic therapies

  • integrate patient and practice management strategies to improve the outcomes of patients receiving biologic therapies
