ABOUT THIS POLICY
This privacy policy applies only to the

by licensed healthcare professionals.
If you use a link to visit another Web

INFORMATION COLLECTION
Unregistered Users
Visitors to our Web site can access the
home page and browse the site without disclosing any personally identifiable
information. We do track information provided to us by your browser,
including the Web site you came from (known as the "referring URL"),
the type of browser you use, the time and date of access, and other
information that does not personally identify you. You must register
with us to receive credit for completing activities.
Registered Users
Customers registering through our Web
site to participate in activities are asked to provide us with identifying
information, such as name, contact information, credentials, and specialty.
AdvancMed uses this information to correspond with the user about registration
for activities, credit tracking, logistics arrangements, issuing credit
transcripts, customizing the registered users' profiles, and providing
information about future activities. Registration applies to both
live and enduring activities. The information collected will not
be rented, sold, or shared with unaffiliated parties.
Cookies
The AdvancMed Web site uses cookies to identify a user who visits the
Web site and to enhance the user's visit. A cookie is a piece of text
that our Web server places on your hard drive. No unaffiliated parties
have access to the information obtained from cookies.
Although cookies do not normally contain personally identifiable information,
if you are a registered user we may associate your registration information
with cookies that our Web site places on your computer's hard drive.
Associating a cookie with your registration data allows us to offer
increased customization.
USE OF INFORMATION
Aggregate Data
We create aggregate data about visitors
to our Web sites and use these data for activity development and continuous
quality improvement. We may provide information from our Web sites in
aggregate form, with personal information removed, to third parties
such as activity planners, faculty, and commercial supporters. Third
parties are not charged for this information.
Marketing and Advertising
We may target our advertising or marketing
depending on information we have received about you via mail, e-mail
or your registration profile. We may also personalize our Web site according
to your interests. For example, upcoming meetings in your geographic
area may be highlighted on your profile page, or you may be asked to
complete questions or cases in your specialty.
Storage
All user information is recorded in a
Web-based participant tracking database.
Only employees who need access to the information are allowed to use
this information.
Account
Information
Users may edit registration account information
for the purpose of updating contact information.
Users who have received credit from AdvancMed
may not delete their accounts, because AdvancMed has an obligation to

and to the American Medical Association (AMA) to maintain credit records
for two full cycles of the Physician's Recognition Award (6 years).
The American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation
and the American Council for Pharmacy Education both require that providers
keep records of credit for at least 5 years.

no unaffiliated person has access to that information.
